Kerlabs : Who are we ?
Kerlabs is focused on the conception, development and support activities of "On-demand computing platform based on the use of virtual SMP servers. We also offer all the computing services and networks linked to it.
The company was founded in 2006. The head office is located in Rennes, France. Kerlabs was helped by OSEO, Rennes Atalante and the regional board of elected representatives of Brittany. The company does not belong to another group, it is totally free. The capital is held by founder members at 80% and also by Investia company at 20%.
Kerlabs : An INRIA spin-off
KERLABS is an INRIA spin-off. The INRIA is one of the main research laboratories specialized in computer science in France. The company was founded with a specific objective: industrialize the Kerrighed technology coming from research project PARIS of INRIA in Rennes - France
SSI-operating system Kerrighed development began at INRIA in 1999. Kerrighed system is a result of 6 years of research and development at INRIA. It is the result of 3 thesis and several years of engineering corresponding to 30 men years or research and development.
Kerlabs’s founders are all INRIA former members, where they were involved in research activities on Kerrighed project for several years. Since 2006, Kerrighed has been developped primarily by Kerlabs.
Kerrighed technology provides a high administration simplicity: you manage your cluster as a simple server thanks to our unique concept of virtual SMP. Users and administrators have the illusion to work on a single powerful Linux machine.
